Miholcsa Dávid is a visual artist and 2D animator, born in 2000 in Târgu-Mureș, Romania. He currently lives and works in Târgu-Mureș.

His drawings aim to visually capture the absurd state of existence that characterizes the vicious cycle of human life: we attempt to fill our innate sense of inner lack by endlessly chasing desires and goals. We have been doing all this in quiet desperation for millennia, acting as if wars, technological advancements, culture, or social conventions could lead us to lasting well-being.

Humanity's inner sense of lack gapes like a black void or yawns as a monotonous, silent landscape in his works. In these spaces, a motif occasionally appears, suggesting an aspect or nuance of our existential condition. The drawing technique also conveys a sense of absence, with wiping and erasure playing a significant role in creating a kind of negative drawing through monotonous and repetitive motions. The timeless and infinite spaces, along with the empty nets, evoke the universal human experience: the constant struggle between the desired wholeness and the ever-present sense of lack.
